And won’t Roy be ticked! Get it? Roy Rogers and his trusty steed, Trigger? Told you I like playing with words. Next week we’ll kick off with a guest blogger, Renee’. Her Facebook page is here. More on her tomorrow, and she’ll be blogging here starting Monday. The reason I’m doing this is not because I’ve run out of things to write about, but to start the community interacting. In order to do that I have to listen to others – or in this case, read what they have to say. One-sided conversations are dull. I have quite a few authors who have agreed to appear here. Hopefully they’ll stick around for more than just a one-off week of blogging. Communities need members, after all, and this should turn into a community. If you’ve read this blog for a while and think you have something to contribute, feel free to check in. More than happy. There are some rules, however. The guest bloggers have already seen these rules, but I’ll detail them here just to let you know what to expect. DON’T WRITE SOMETHING YOU KNOW WILL TICK OFF A WIDE GROUP OF PEOPLE! That pretty much sums it up. We all know people who have strong feelings about politics, religion, putting Italian side dishes with a Mexican entree, and maybe even mismatched socks. Don’t be surprised if some of the authors who blog here have an opinion different from yours. I’m urging respect for everyone else’s opinion, even if it’s diametrically opposed to yours. I’m friends with people who are vehemently opposed to some of my beliefs. That doesn’t mean we can’t be friends. Calling someone an idiot for believing “that” is a good way to avoid friendship. Idiot is a strong word, and begs for a stronger response, which leads to a back-and-forth of escalation that has no place here. Respect. That’s the key word. Treat others with respect here, and save your ire for where it belongs – on the road in heavy traffic. KIDDING!
